It ensures that farmers receive support that matches their expected income from farming and also helps cover their household expenses. Through this scheme, the Central Government transfers ₹6000/- directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers every year using online methods, with certain conditions in place.

All families of farmers who own cultivable land in their names are eligible to receive benefits under this program.
Exclusions
The scheme does not provide benefits to certain affluent categories of persons:
1. Institutional landlord.
2. Farmer families whose members have held or currently hold constitutional posts, ministerial posts or seats in legislative bodies, as well as those who have served as mayor or district panchayat president.
3. Active or retired government officers and employees of Central or State Ministries, Public Sector Enterprises or local bodies, except certain lower level employees.
4. Retirees receiving monthly pension of Rs. 10,000 or more, excluding a few lower level employees.
Individuals who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year.
5. Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants and architects who are registered with professional bodies and actively practicing their profession.

Step 2: The Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) will enter all the necessary farmer registration information, including the state, district, subdistrict block, and village. They will input the Aadhaar number, beneficiary’s name, category, bank details, Land Registration ID, and date of birth exactly as they appear on the Aadhaar card for authentication.
Step 3: The VLE will provide the land details, including the Survey/Kahta Number, Khasra number, and the area of land as specified in the land holding documents.
Step 4: Upload all required supporting documents such as the land papers, Aadhaar card, and bank passbook.
Step 5: Review and accept the self-declaration, then save the completed application form.
Step 6: Once the application form is saved, proceed to make the payment through your CSC ID.
Step 7: Verify the beneficiary status by using the Aadhaar number.
